New for 2011!

In 2010 we improved the surface of the courts and in 2011 we have improved the fencing and managed to get the grass court playable again after a fashion! We continue to develop our plans to floodlight two of the courts for next year. We also embarked on the Sport England Clubmark in 2010 which we have just been awarded.

Come and play tennis!

The club caters for all ages and standards, from the ambitious and committed league players to those who prefer a more relaxed social approach.

We have as many as 6 teams competing in local leagues and there is a comprehensive coaching programme available for players of all abilities and ages.

Junior & Adult coaching

Please have a look at the Shinfield Tennis Club coaching programme. We have a comprehensive coaching programme for Children utilising the LTA approved "mini-tennis" game delivered by our LTA licensed coaches under the stewardship of Head Coach, Jonathan Smith, an ex-UK Davis Cup player.

Once you join the club please use the booking forms to decide when you or your children would like to come along and have some coaching. If you're not sure which group, don't worry we'll sort it out when you get here! The first session is always free so just contact us and we'll fit you in somehow!

Welcome to Shinfield Tennis Club

Shinfield Tennis Club is a friendly club in the pleasant surroundings of Shinfield village. We're registered with the LTA and the club facilities include three all-weather hard courts, one grass court and a small clubhouse. We also have access to additional courts elsewhere in Wokingham Borough when we need to cope with additional playing requirement. There are additional changing facilities available at the Shinfield Association's clubhouse situated in the same park area.

Shinfield Tennis Club awarded Clubmark!

We are pleased to announce that at the end of August 2011 the club has been awarded Clubmark by the LTA, the governing body of tennis, and introduced by Sport England. For more information please have a look at our Clubmark page to see what this means for the club and it's members.

The club continues to grow with approaching 200 members and with Clubmark it will enable us to approach a number of funding sources so that we can continue the development of the facilities plans, which include improved playing surfaces, floodlights and a new clubhouse.

Social Events

We have a number of fun social events running throughout the year. Social events are also a way of raising much needed funds towards improving our clubs facilities, and we always welcome ideas and offers of help from our members.

All through the year there are various club tournaments and matches as well as our regular club sessions.
